Two mermaids with a jar of marmalade. After staying up late painting mermaids, having orange marmalade with my English muffins for breakfast, this whimsical image came to me. It's one of those rare paintings that I really like but no one else seems to care for it as much. I Can't find the original anywhere, can't remember if it was sold or given away, so guess it's not for sale for now. If anyone out there knows where the original is, please let me know for my records.
James Joseph Roderick grew up in Provincetown, Cape Cod, Massachusetts in the 50's and 60's and attended the Art Institute of Boston in the early 70's. Since moving to Colorado in the mid-nineties, his art has fully turned into an honoring of the Goddess, the Divine Feminine in us all. He has painted over 60 images of The Virgin of Guadalupe.
