The Virgin of Guadalupe Takes a Sunday Afternoon Walk Along Seurat's La Grande Jetta, I placed the Virgin in George Seurat's famous painting, done in his pointillism style. He studied the scientific theory of color, by placing individual dots of color on the canvas and challenging the viewers eyes to do the blending. I enjoyed experimenting with this process, there is a softness to it I like. Georges Seurat was a French Impressionist who devised a technique known as pointillism. He once was quoted " Some see poetry in my paintings, I see only science " I see beauty in his work, poetry or science, doesn't matter beauty is beauty.
