The Wawilak Sisters are the ancestral spirt beings who are part of the most sacred rituals in the Aboriginal culture of Australia. Their story takes place in dream time. A place full of complexity and can not be limited to the Western idea of time as a linear structure. The Wawilak Sisters traveled through the land naming animals and plants and preforming ritual song and sacred dance. They created linguistic structure and their ceremonies created social unity. There is restricted access to the Wawilak Sisters story, limited understanding of the knowledge is shared, certain aspects of their mystery must remain unknown to Westerners at this time. The original work of art is a 10" X 10" relief will be for sale soon.
