Description
Tonantzin is an Aztec fertility, Goddess. The Virgine of Guadalupe appeared on the same hilltop where Tonantzin was worshiped for thousands of years by the native population. Quite the coincident it appears, so of course the natives adopted Guadalupe as their Mother Tonantzin. Some would say that the Catholics successfully planned the whole thing to get the native support. But who am I to speculate what happen back then and for what reason? Does seem a little too coincidental to me though, what do you think?
