This is an 18"x 18" painting called ' Visionaries '. There is a profound intelligence in the natural world, that can be reached through visionary plants. Many, if not most, of the ancient cultures used some form of these plants as a method of opening the doors of perception. Now-a-days, with our concrete jungles, each generation grows further away from Mother Nature. What we need is a way back to our authentic self. From the nourishing Plant Kingdom comes the 'Visionaries'...
AYAHUASCA...vine of the soul, frees the soul from corporal confinement.
PEYOTE...plays a major sacramental role in the ceremonies of the Tarahumara of Mexico.
MUSCARIA...mushroom, one of the oldest visionaries, identified as the sacred Soma of ancient India.
CANNABIS...used by ancient Chinese shamans to communicate with spirits and to set forward time.
