This art work is inspired from a photo of my daughter, taken a while ago. It's an 8"x10" painting, one of very few of my paintings done in oil. It is a portrait of young Guadalupe just after she got a visit from the Angel that told her she was with child and that child would be the Savior of the World. Can you just imagine what that would feel like? She has a look of not being sure what's about to happen to her world, but you see her inner strength shinning through, and you know she can handle it. Well, that's what I see anyway. The original oil painting is for sale. Contact....roderickartworks@gmail.com ...
James Joseph Roderick grew up in Provincetown, Cape Cod, Massachusetts in the 50's and 60's and attended the Art Institute of Boston in the early 70's. Since moving to Colorado in the mid-nineties, his art has fully turned into an honoring of the Goddess, the Divine Feminine in us all. He has painted over 60 images of The Virgin of Guadalupe. His mission, through his art work, is to bring awareness to the feminine side of the Divine. He can be contacted at roderickartworks@gmail.com.
