This is Jaguar Moon. The Jaguar is a symbol of protection, as a powerful and fearless spirit, the Jaguar would protect the Shamam from negative energy and harmful spirits. It was in the Peruvian Jungle outside of Tarapoto that we were surprised by the many images of Our Lady of Guadalupe and the Jaguar we came across. I painted this in remembrance of the many visionary experiences that came across us when we were there.

James Joseph Roderick grew up in Provincetown, Cape Cod, Massachusetts in the 50's and 60's and attended the Art Institute of Boston in the early 70's. Since moving to Colorado in the mid-nineties, his art has fully turned into an honoring of the Goddess, the Divine Feminine in us all. He has painted over 60 images of The Virgin of Guadalupe.
