This is EPONA, the Celtic Goddess known as the guiding spirit of horses and their riders. She is a symbol of prosperity on the battlefield and the equestrian home. Epona played an important role in the folklore of ancient Gallic religions. She is more than just a horse goddess; she holds the keys to the underworld and escorts souls on their journey there. Epona is all about the spirit of abundance and plenty, nourishment and healing. Her shrines often contained therapeutic healing springs. The original is a 10" X 10" relief sculpture that is for sale.
